Incoming…………………………

“My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine and everyone that’s been pulled into the recent conflicts. We have devs all over the world and that includes in and around Ukraine, we want to let you know that our devs are safe and we intend to do everything in our power to ensure that it stays that way.”

— Matt Wisniewski, Founder and President of Satellite.im

Updates…………………………

This week on the Satellite, at its surface, seems to be an uneventful one. But appearances aren’t everything, you can spend a lot of time staring at our great machine through your telescope and not even know that a ton has been going on deep inside the hull of the Satellite. Week by week the team works incredibly hard but not always on things that are visible. Satellite CTO/ Backend team lead Manuel for instance spent the week under the hood, re-working parts of our group-chat system. Unfortunately, that means you will have to create a new account, but it’ll all be worth it soon, we promise!

Another peek behind the curtain is Warp, a project that Senior Developer Darius and President Matt have been working on around the clock. We won’t have a lot to show you on the Warp front until after alpha, but you can spy on the project here.

As for something a little more visible, Joe, one of our excellent Software Developers, has deployed his first iteration of the file system to core.satellite.im, so be sure to go check it out! You can see many planned updates to the UI and functionality of the file system in our Discord server in the Issues Channel. With that, there is a tiny disclaimer, encryption is not up and running for the files just yet, so don’t share anything you wouldn’t want Grandma to see.

Lastly, I bring you some updates to our crew! We have a new Senior Developer Drew coming aboard, he will be officially on the team on Monday. Also our wonderful UI/UX Designer Liz has been promoted to the Lead UI/UX Designer. So with that last update, I would like to remind you all that we are always looking for qualified candidates, so if you’re a developer with experience in typescript, flutter, and/or web3 work, or a UI/UX Designer or Researcher hit us up!

Outro…………………………

Everyone, please be safe out there. If you have any suggestions or questions, be sure to leave a comment on this article, post a message in our Discord, or send us a Tweet. Thanks for reading, and look out for next week’s transmission.
